"Not just a hat rack" -Fred
Happy St. Patrick's day this week! I feel so LUCKY (haha, see what I did there) to be in Norway preaching the gospel. The more I help to bring the gospel into other people's lives, the more I realize just how blessed I am to have it in my life. Many times us missionaries get asked by people why we go to another country, learn a different language, and bank on doors for hours on end. I respond with my testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel and my genuine desire for people to know of the truth and have the same happiness, peacefulness, and purpose in their life. I continue to be so amazed by the faithfulness of the members here in Norway who drive for hours to come to church and sacrifice so much of their time and money. Their testimonies are so strong in the sea of atheists, evangelists, and Jehovah's Witnesses here in Norway.
Hva Skjedd Denne Uken?
-We met with Silje and set a new baptismal date for the 14 of April! Yay!
- We also met with a Polish lady named Margaret who is a born again Pentecostal. She met us on the street and ever since then she has been calling with us and trying to meet with us to convert us and to convince us of the errors of our church. We had a good discussion in her apartment and she fed us Polish chocolate. We testified of the gospel and how we have received witness for ourselves that the gospel is true. She seems interested in why we believe what we do and she has a lot of misconceptions of our church. We are meeting with her again. I am curious to see where it will go. I know that the Lord prepares people in different ways and this might be his way to prepare her to accept the gospel.
- We met with our referal and we found out that he went on lds.org and refered himself and that the request just went through St. George Visitors center. Pass-along cards really do work! We couldn't meet with him right then in his apartment because we didn't have the elders with us and so we gave him a Mormons Bok and are meeting with him later.
- We went out to Volda last Friday and visited a member and our Branch President Fred. Fred fed us Pizza and we talked about what we can do better here in Ålesund to strengthten the branch. The title of my email is inspired by him because he always uses funny phrases in english. His most common one being "Not just a hat rack".
-I gave another talk in Sacrament meeting and I was again amazed at what I am able to accomplish with the Lord's help. If you would have told me that I was to give a 15 minute sacrament talk 5 months ago på Norsk I probably would have had a heart attack. With Heavenly Father I can do anything he requires of me and the peace that comes from relying on him is indescribable.
- We went to the ålesund aqvarium last P-day and it was so much fun!
That is about all that I have time for this week! We only have 3 computers på grunn av eldstene, haha! I love you all and hope that you have a great week!
Looks like you are having a wonderful time . . . and sharing your love and testimony of the Gospel at the same time!! Congratulations on the best-looking "taco" I have ever seen. Love you so much, sweet Morgan!!!
