This week is moves week and all the missionaries in our district got together to "open" moves when they came out this morning. We then went on a very long hike, which is the reason why my email is going to be so short because I hardly have anytime left. Anyways, PLOT TWIST! I am moving to Drammen! It is so sad to think that I will be leaving Asker so soon! I am going to miss all of the amazing members that have taken me under their wings and who are such great examples of member missionary work.
President Hill must have known that this move would come as a shock to me, because he said "just trust me". And I do. I feel a strange sense of peace about this move and I know that Drammen is the place that I need to be right now. Drammen's ward has the most members in Norway and I have heard so many amazing things about how close and friendly they are. Also, I am already pretty kjent with my companion Søster Whetten because we have been serving in the same district for the past transfer! She is so cute and so much fun! I am so excited for all of the adventures that we are going to have together!
All that I have time for is to share one miracle that happened this week:
Søster Morris and I were able to meet with Iselin yesterday! We met with her before church to teach her the restoration and she brought her little girl Sophie. They went to sacrament meeting after and it was so cool to see how welcoming the ward was to them both. I am so grateful that we were able to find Iselin! I know that Søster Livingston and Søster Morris are going to take good care of her!
Ok, I think that I have time for one more:
Søster Morris and I got another investigator! We found him originally while banking and he told us that we could come back the next week. We came back and banked on his door. There was no answer. We started writing a note to put on the door, because we didn't have his number, and then the blinds opened and he was standing right there! We taught him the restoration out on his front porch and he was really interested and engaged. He liked especially the idea that we have a living prophet today that receives inspiration from God. We gave him our Norwegian general conference issue of the Liahona and he is going to read Russel M. Nelsons talk! He also said that he used to get answers from God in dreams, but that it stopped a couple of years ago. I am hoping that he will be able to get an answer to his prayer that our message is true. It is so amazing to see that God talks and answers people based on their own understanding. 2 Nephi 31:3 gives that promise and it is one of my favorite scriptures to share with people.
Heavenly Father is always so willing to give us guidance and inspiration. We need only ask and do the spiritual work required to receive answers through the Holy Ghost.
I love you all so very much! Ha den meste strålende uke!
Love, Søster Starkie
