The week of running around

When I say the week of running around I mean it! There was one time this past week where we had to run all the way across the city to catch our bus! I am pretty sure that we got some weird looks, but it's okay! We made it! All of that running in the morning has paid off!

This past week we had a lesson with Patrick and he had read President Russel M Nelson's talk about revelation. He also said that he prayed a couple of times and that he prayed specifically that we would know how we can help him. That was so genuine and sincere of him. It has been amazing to see the transformation in him. I can tell that he really wants to know if everything that the missionaries have taught him is true. We committed him to pray every day this next week and he texted us a couple days ago saying that he has had an experience and that he will share it with us when we meet with him this Tuesday

On Wednesday and Thursday we had splits with Søster Wheeler and Søster Palmer in Oslo. I was with Søster Wheeler for the first day and we focused a lot about trying to visit people from the ward and finding along the way. We met this really nice lady that had a friend that was Mormon and that died a couple of years ago. She went to her funeral and said that she had felt a really peaceful spirit there. People are being prepared in so many different ways! We also met this guy named Moses that was very open to the idea of receiving more happiness and peace in his life. We were able to set up a meeting with him. Over this last transfer, I have realized how important it is to be myself! When people are able to see the light that is in us, then they will have that desire to experience it for themselves. I read this amazing talk this past week called "both feet forward" by Scott Swofford. He talks about how important it is to be genuine. God has given us our personalities for a reason! And who we are is magnified in the best ways through the gospel. It is our responsibility to share who we are with others and help them to achieve the potential that God has for them as well.

My second day of splits was pretty short, and Søster Palmer and I stopped this guy and asked him how he receives guidance in his life. He talked about his parents and books. We talked about books with him for a minute and it was so easy to introduce the Book of Mormon. He wasn't interested in taking the lessons, but at least he got a Book of Mormon with the promise that it will give him direction in his life and bring him closer to God.
The rest of the week we went to the Finneruds, a member family, cabin for dinner and it was beautiful; Tried to visit a couple of members that we haven't seen in church for a little bit and banked around; and had a lesson with Thomas. We talked about developing faith and he prayed for the first time with us! He was also going to come to church but was sick the morning of. Next week!

Anyways, that is about all that I have time for. Have a great week, be yourselves, and share the light that you have!
Love, Søster Starkie
