Not domestic nok to cook Quinoa
This week we had a day where we didn't have a member middag, something that we are not really used to anymore, and we decided to be ambitious and cook quinoa. We tried to follow the directions which were in German (maybe?) and ended up turning our meal into a burnt offering. The entire house filled with smoke, all of the fire alarms went off, and a security man came to check that we didn't burn the entire house down. Søster Ogletree and I are still trying to get the smell of burnt Quinoa out of our house and have already used half a can of febreeze. The good thing is that we decided we have another exciting missionary story and we were able to laugh about it a lot.

Anyways, that was our highlighting failure of the week, but we also had many good things that happened. Opposition in all things, right?
We met someone named Jovan and we are now teaching him! We just contacted him on the street one day and he said that he has always wanted to know more about God and Jesus Christ. We told him that is what we do as missionaries and his eyes just lit up. He is so genuine in his desire to come closer to them.
We met with Patrick this past week and he has been working on the Book of Mormon challenge. He has read a lot of the big miracle stories in the Book of Mormon lately that have to do with these big powers of manifestations and he said that he didn't need that in order to know that God exists. All that he needs is a simple answer. That was so impressive to me. A lot of the people that we talk to are waiting for God to come down from heaven and show himself to them, but he is the exact opposite. It has been so amazing to see the little ways that he has changed over these past few months that I have known him and to see how God is preparing his heart.
We were also able to meet with Jawaher again and give her a Book of Mormon. I don't think that she really realized that a lot of things go against her religion of Islam and she seemed a little hesitant to read the Book of Mormon with us. She still continues to be as nice as ever and at least we were able to share our testimonies of Jesus Christ with her. She also bought us Ice Cream!
On Sunday, Gunnar came to church and all of the members were so good about getting to know him and making him feel welcome. He said that he enjoyed the meeting a lot and that the sacrament talks were very powerful to him.
That is about it for the week! We met this really cute mom yesterday that is interested in meeting and so I am excited to see what happens with that!
This morning for P-day we hiked Gaustatoppen which is one of the highest mountains in Norway! It was so much fun and I am so tired now. I would say more, but pictures are worth a thousand words.;)
I love you all and hope you have a great week!
