The Lord qualifies those who he calls
Hallo friends and family! I have again procrastinated the day of my emailing and I am not sure how much time I will have for my weekly. I am sorry that you get practically the same introduction every time, but I have just become really comfortable with routine.:)
This week Søster Ogletree and I were all over the Drammen and Oslo area. I Feel like Oslo has become our second home! We were there on Splits with Søster Palmer and Søster Ogletree on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday morning! I was able to teach a family from Kyrgyzstan with Søster Wheeler and we taught them the importance of prayer. I was able to share a simple story of when I lost a part of my watch in the carpet and how I found it right by my knee after I said a prayer. His daughters were so excited to pray for their sick Grandma after we got done teaching them. Baghi, the dad, said that he wanted his daughters to grow up to be like Søster Wheeler and I. I never realized until then that we could be examples as missionaries for youth that are not a part of the church. Another memorable teach that I had in Oslo was with a British man named Nigel. He impressed me a lot with his willingness to learn. He has been going through and studying the lesson pamphlets with the missionaries. He is very respectful to us and realizes that he can learn from us. He even wrote down my name so that he could remember me even though I was just visiting. He asked if I was related to Ringo Star when he heard my name haha. We talked about the plan of salvation and specifically about Adam and Eve's fall. I shared the time that I had to go to court because I was trespassing on railroad tracks and how through that experience I learned to never give into peer pressure again. The Fall was part of God's plan because without it we would not have been able to come here to earth. But perhaps Adam and Eve needed to have that experience so that they would be even more determined to keep God's commandments. Søster Palmer and I also sang a song for an old lady and she felt the spirit so strongly that she cried. She also strengthened my conviction to do more Family History work.

I am running out of time, but we were also able to meet with someone who felt the spirit at a baby blessing and wants to come back to church. For the third time in a week, I was able to share a story from my personal life and bring the spirit to the lesson. Søster Ogletree was also able to share her own experience and we were able to help this member see how the gospel works on a personal level.
I am so grateful for all of the experiences that Heavenly Father has allowed me to go through and that he has helped me to use them to bless others. I encourage all of you this week to be a little bit more open to opportunities to share your experiences with others that may need a little help this week.
I love you all and I hope that this week will be great!
Love, Søster Starkie
PS: Just one thing really fast. We got to do the musical again and we gave out ALL 250 books! That has never been done before! WOO!
