Birthday Week FT. a gammel dame

Hallo Everyone! Thank you so much for all of the Birthday wishes! I am now officially not a teenager anymore and guess what? I woke up on Saturday morning and I still don't have everything figured out yet. I have started to realize that it might even be impossible. How do adults look so put together all of the time? This week we continued to see miracles and all of my birthday wishes were fulfilled and even some that I didn't know that I had.

This week started out with celebrating and cake! Søster Wheeler and Søster Brimhall made me a cheesecake and brought it to distrikt counsel! They are so sweet! Also, later that day we had an activity with the Young Women where we put them through an "MTC" experience and taught them different principles of being a missionary. I was amazed at how spiritually strong all of these young women are and how they stand up for what they believe in everyday. As they shared stories of the experiences that they have had, I realized that they have already been fantastic missionaries their entire lives! One girl shared an experience of when she went out contacting with Søster Whetten and I and how we found a man that could only speak Portuguese and how it was a miracle because she speaks Portuguese! I remember that moment, but it took on a completely different meaning when she said how strongly she felt the spirit as she bore testimony to him.

On Thursday, we had a first lesson with someone that we met on the street the day before. His name is Kristopher and he is genuinely interested in the gospel. He said that he felt the spirit during the lesson and that he was going to read the book of mormon and pray about it. It was really refreshing meeting someone that has a sincere desire to act and find direction in their life. We had a member, Henrik, on the lesson and he was amazing and bore a powerful testimony. He also offered Kristopher a ride home. I appreciate the members that we work with so much!

On Friday and Saturday I went on splits in Asker! When I went back there all of these wonderful memories came flooding back of all of the miracles I saw and adventures I had with Søster Morris! I was able to see a lot of familiar faces at Sport Saturday morning and able to catch up a little bit. Søster Brimhall and I met several people while contacting that had connections to the church. One had a family member that is LDS, another had a co-worker, and the other person had a presentation with the missionaries about the church in his school! It is so amazing to see all the good that people are doing by just being members of the church! Keep it up! People around you are being prepared by the Lord in small and simple ways.

Saturday was the big day and the day I graduated from teenage years! Søster Ogletree, Wheeler, Brimhall, and I went out to eat at Texas BBQ. It felt and tasted like home!

This email is getting pretty long, but I want to end off things on a good, spiritual note. This week has been filled with spiritual experiences that I feel so privileged to experience. Someone asked the elders for a priesthood blessing, we took the sacrament with the Sandvika elders to a member there, and Søster Ogletree and I had family home evening at the Brownlee's house with Tone Hansen there. Through all of these experiences I felt the Holy Ghost and was reminded how lucky I am to have him with me. One of my favorite scriptures this past week is Doctrine and Covenants 11:13. It says the spirit fills our souls with joy.Thank you for all of your amazing examples! I am so excited for general conference! I hope that we can all be prepared to hear the words of our living prophet!
Love, Søster Starkie
