Første helgen min i Tromsø (My First Weekend in Tromsø)

Ahoy! From the first minute I stepped off the plane with my stuffed full suitcases I fell in love with Tromsø! I love my new companion Søster Stocks! Our personalities go so well together and our companionship unity has been on point since day one. So many things happened this week, so I will try to sum them up as usual.:)
  • My second day here we had a Halloween Branch party! I got to meet all the members here that I had heard so much about! Fun fact: I already new one member Johanne, because I got to Skype into her baptism with Sister Pond back in April. We dressed up, had dinner, and did different Halloween activities. Søster Stocks and I made Tree of life and Lehi costumes inspired by a dream I had the night before. I have a lot of pictures, and those can help explain what happened that night more than writing.:)
  • Søster Stocks and I have met some incredible people these past couple of days! One man we met on the street and he said that he has been meeting a lot of religious people lately and he said that he knew that we were supposed to stop him and talk to him. We gave him a book of mormon and we are meeting with him later this week. We have also met several other people who took Books of Mormons and said that they are willing to meet and learn more. I am so surprised how open people are up here and I am so excited to see the miracles that are going to come out of this.
  • Probably the biggest miracle this week is Søster Stocks and I were walking down the gågata and Søster Stocks points at someone walking on the other side of the street and says that we need to talk to her. We asked this woman what gives her happiness and right away she said Jesus. We shared our message of the restored gospel with her and she said that she is interested in meeting and learning more. She also invited us to her Bible study group on Friday with her friends. This was an answer to my prayers because the MMK in Drammen told me before I left that I needed to find a Bibel study group here of university students and it turns out that they found me! No coincidences!
  • A couple of funny things: our landlord fixed our shower drain and his name is Morgan! We also ran into this guy and he described the northern lights as a ballerina in the sky. When we said goodbye, he winked and said " see ya around senorita". Haha I love meeting people!
Now is about time for me to leave the library and stop plaguing the boy next to me. I accidently got crumbs from my pastry on his paper.

I love my mission so much and I am so glad that I can be serving here in Tromsø! I have felt so much that this is where I need to be!

Ha en god uke!
Love, Søster Starkie
