The spirit of Halloween

Hello!!! I am traveling to Trondheim today for zone conference so I don't have a whole lot of time, but this week was definately one for the books, (or the email).

On Wednesday we celebrated Halloween! Unfortunately, Søster Stocks and I seemed to be the only ones that were, but we made a party out of it. The only indications of Halloween we saw were a sign in the library and an advertisement for a Halloween milkshake. (We may or may not have not treated ourselves to that after a couple hours of contacting in the cold). We had a teach with Tony, our friend from Estonia and I got to meet him. He told us of a couple of experiences that he has been having with coming closer to Christ and we could really see how his life is changing. He is such a sweet soul. Later that night, in the spirit of Halloween, we drew moustaches on our fingers, ate some Norwegian chocolate, and had a dance party!

A couple days after, we had a teach with Antonio and we were a little bit late to the teach. He told us after he arrived that his friend had a heart attack and he had to give him CPR. We were so surprised that he still came! His friend is now in the hospital and is going to be okay. We didn't have a whole lot of time to teach what we had planned, so we read Mosiah 18 together and the member that was on the teach bore her testimony on Sunday and said that the chapter we read was exactly what she needed.

That same day, we went to Portia's bible group and had an amazing spiritual, uplifting experience there. Right after we walked in the door, everyone there was super nice and welcoming. We bore testimony, sang gospel choir songs ( I have always wanted to do that. Dream fulfilled.), and studied  Romans 8. The spirit was so strong and it was amazing to meet people who are so faithful in our Lord Jesus Christ. Søster Stocks and I later read the article on lds.org about other people having light. They do have a light and I hope that they will become interested in the gospel after we get to know them better.

Well folks, that is all I have time for this week! Hope you had a great Halloween! Shout out to my brother Mason who is leaving for the MTC next week! I am so proud of him and I know that he is quite possibly going to be the best missionary. He gets to learn from all my mistakes!;)

Love you all!
Love, Søster Starkie
