Figuring out parenthood
Hallo vennene mine! This email might be the shortest email in the history of weeklies, but I need to finish typing up my essays for my College applications due this week. Procrastination, I know. Some Things never change...
I said goodbye to Søster Stocks on Wednesday at 1:00 PM and then was babysat by the Cooks until Søster Neal flew in at 12:00 AM. Her flight had been delayed and then had technical difficulties and so it made for an exciting first day in Norway. Despite the late night, she has impressively fought back the jet lag and is a natural missionary. From day one she was out on the streets, boldly stopping People and speaking Norwegian. She is amazing and I am sure that she has taught me more than I have taught her.
A couple of Experiences:
- We had another lesson With Daniel before he goes home for Christmas and we taught him Faith and Repentance. As always, he came prepared With many good questions and listened attentively to Our answers. I am constantly impressed With his good intentions and how he is genuinely seeking the truth. They are still doing Construction on Our building and so at the beginning of the lesson, it was really hard to hear each other. We decided to continue With the lesson anyways and the noise stopped completely about 5 minutes later. It was a Christmas miracle!
- We met with Pierre also one last time. He leaves for Cameroon on Friday. It is hard to teach him with the Language barrier and so we thought to show him the restoration video in French. The Spirit was so strong and he said that he was so Grateful that God allowed us to meet him on the street and teach him the truth. This was probably the most special experience that I have had on my missions and I am so thankful to be a missionary so that God can use me to help People who are prepared like Pierre.
- Our prayer was answered over the silliest thing on Saturday. We went to take out Our trash on Saturday and the door to Our little metal tubes that we shove Our trash Down was frozen shut. Søster Neal suggested that we say a prayer and ask for help. We tried again and the door didn't budge but 10 Seconds later a Nice Nordmann walks up and tells us to leave Our trash and that he would get a torch from his Apartment, melt the ice, and throw Our Garbage away. God cares even about the silliest little Things.
Now it's time to get back to essays. Thank you so much for all of the Christmas wishes and for being the wonderful People that you are. I hope that you find joy in lighting your community this week and that you experience even more of the Light of Chirst in your lives. Vi snakkes!
