å fryse ihjel

This week Lill (a member that helps us with språk) taught us the phrase to freeze to death (å fryse ihjel). We learned it just in time for Tromsø's almost record breaking freezing temperatures and have been using it a lot. But come rain, snow, or nose-hair freezing cold, the work goes on! 

Just really fast these are some of the highlights this week:

- We were able to get in contact with one of the people we are teaching and have an appointment to meet with him tomorrow! 

- We had dinner with that lady on the buss from Eritrea and were able to introduce her to the Book of Mormon and teach her a little bit about the restoration. It is amazing how God has prepared her so much to receive more truth. She is one of the few Protestants from Eritrea (most are Orthodox) and so a lot of her beliefs are very similar to ours making her that much more open to what we have to teach her. 

- On Sunday, we stopped by a member's house with the Cooks and visited him for his Birthday. He hasn't been to church or had contact with the missionaries for a while and it was a miracle that he was even home because he has super crazy work hours. He was so nice and welcoming and asked us to meet with him again next week. 

- We shoveled 43 feet of snow off of this old ladies veranda. I kid you not! 4 feet! It has snowed so much lately. Søster Neal and I had a lot of fun while doing it and afterwards this lady gave us these amazing cookies and showered us with compliments. What an amazing opportunity to serve!

- We saw the Northern Lights on Saturday. (Søster Neal's first time!) They are now back and they are clearer and more beautiful than ever. The Cooks said that they are going to go northern lights chasing this weekend, so I will tell you how that goes. 

That is about all that I have time for this week. In Relief Society, we discussed the talk "to be a shepard of souls" and it made me really think about genuinely inviting people back to church. If you know someone that has been gone a while I invite you to take the time to visit them and lovingly invite them back. Sometimes an invitation is all that people need.
